Professor receives Bjorn Folkow award
June 2006Professor Tony Heagerty of the Division of Cardiovascular and Endocrine Sciences in the School of Medicine has won the European Society of Hypertension’s Bjorn Folkow Award, for “his research contribution to the understanding of the pathogenesis of hypertension”.
The award was established in 1987 with the collaboration of AstraZeneca, in recognition of the contribution made by the eminent researcher Bjorn Folkow to cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology.
Professor Heagerty was presented with the award in June at the Society’s annual meeting in Madrid.
