Blood Borne Virus Research Team
The prevalence of blood borne viruses (Hepatitis B, C and HIV) within the Manchester urban area is estimated to be above the national average. The rate of new infections of Hepatitis C and HIV has risen rapidly despite major interventions and initiatives. BBVRT and MUCH are striving to form an international, multi-agency collaboration of professionals with an interest in urban health and blood borne viruses.
The foundations of the BBVRT research will comprise of:
- Phase 1: Mapping and evaluation of services within Manchester, UK
- Phase 2: Research into specific areas identified by Phase 1
