Photodermatoses

Photodermatoses are a wide range of skin disorders of immune, genetic and biochemical aetiology, caused by abnormal sensitivity to ultraviolet and/or visible radiation.

The photobiology unit, directed by Professor Lesley Rhodes, provides a multidisciplinary investigation service for patients residing in a wide area of northern and central England and Wales. Together with Dr Neil Gibbs investigations are ongoing to elucidate underlying mechanisms.
