GenEd Project

Welcome - GenEd Project Improving non-genetics health professionals' understanding of genetic testing.

Welcome to the Web site of the GenEd project. The project - 'Genetic education: improving non-genetics health professionals' understanding of genetic testing' was funded under an accompanying measure of the Fifth Framework programme of the European Commission and based in the Department of Medicine.  This Project ran from 2002 until June 2005, culminating in the "Genetics, Education and Healthcare Symposium" in Prauge on May 6th 2005.  Work is still on-going between the project's Partners, and future publications and presentations will be on-going indefinately as the data collected is analysed and disseminated.

The project was coordinated through Professor Emeritus Rodney Harris and had research partners, collaborators and observers in 11 countries. This site provides information about the project, news and links to previously published research on European aspects of genetic services. Any feedback on this site or the project would be welcomed by emailing Kirsty Challen (Research Assistant) or comments made directly to any of the Partners.
