Our research
Our mission
To bring together statisticians, bio-health informaticians and health economists in a thriving interdisciplinary environment in order to:
- Develop, evaluate and disseminate methodology relevant to clinical, epidemiological and health services research
- Collaborate across the disciplines within the group to strengthen the methodological infrastructure in support of quantitative and qualitative evaluations throughout the health sciences
- Collaborate closely with the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences’ clinical and scientific staff in the development of high-quality, internationally-competitive research programmes, paying particular attention to excellence in terms of design, measurement, implementation, analysis and reporting
- Provide high-quality and innovative postgraduate training in the relevant methodologies for members of our own professions and research workers from other disciplines involved in clinical and health services research, both within the Faculty and in the wider research environment
- Provide advice and support to students and research workers in the Faculty and associated teaching hospitals
- Act as a professional focus for the relevant disciplines within the Faculty and associated teaching hospitals
