The 'Psychiatry for Primary Care' course will not run in its usual format in 2012. We will be launching a new course which will combine online lectures with a choice of interactive workshops at a Manchester venue.

Programme description
The course is aimed at trainees in Psychiatry who intend to enter General Practice and GP Registrars who have not had the opportunity to do Psychiatry during their training schemes.
The course format consists of a series of linked workshops led by psychiatrists and general practitioners. Topics covered include:
- Managing depression and anxiety in primary care
- Mental health problems in older people
- Substance misuse/alcohol related problems
- Management of somatization
