The School of Medicine welcomes applications for its postgraduate taught and research programmes from international students. A range of facilities and services are available to make the application and move to Manchester go smoothly, including a student welcome scheme and specialist advisors who can provide information on many aspects of life in the UK.
In the School, the first point of enquiry is either:
- the Programme Director for taught programmes
- the Postgraduate Tutor of the research group to which your research interests are associated
Advice
As well as the standard induction and training programmes the School strongly encourages international students to:- allow some time before starting their programme to adjust to life in the UK, find accommodation, orientate to Manchester and practise their English
- take full advantage of the English language programmes offered by the University Language Centre
- find out about the School's specialist Academic English Writing Skills assessment and programmes tailored to individual needs, allowing non-English speakers to fast-track their scientific writing skills.
- contact their Programme Director or Postgraduate Tutor who will be able to help if they have any problems
