Intercalating students (after year 4) from the University of Manchester's MBChB programme (including those from the University of St Andrews): Minimum criterion for admission is satisfactory achievement in years 1 to 4 of the undergraduate medical programme, with no failure at any examination in the past two academic years.
For University of St Andrews students, this includes their three-year degree programme and the following two years spent in Manchester (years 3 and 4 of the Manchester programme).
We also accept home and international medical graduates who have an undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in a biomedical science and who can demonstrate relevant experience and commitment to oncology research.
Overseas students are only accepted with an honours degree or equivalent in a biomedical subject from an established university.
Externally funded students from other UK medical schools who may transfer to Manchester for one year to undertake the MRes programme: Such students will be individually assessed on their previous academic performance to ensure that they have the necessary aptitude for research i.e. from past examination performance and references from project supervisors, tutors and mentors.
Course fees: For entry in the academic year beginning September 2012, the tuition fees are as follows:

MRes (full-time)
UK/EU students (per annum): £6,800
International students (per annum): £17,800
The fees quoted above will be fully inclusive for the course tuition, administration and computational costs during your studies.
All fees for entry will be subject to yearly review and incremental rises per annum are also likely over the duration of courses lasting more than a year for UK/EU students (fees are typically fixed for International students, for the course duration at the year of entry). There are ten £2,000 MCRC bursaries available for Year 4 MBChB (Medicine) intercalating students. These will be awarded to the ten best students selected from the interview process.
This is a new course which commenced September 2010 and there is a maximum of 20 places available.
