How to apply: PhD/ MPhil
Applications: guidance notes
All applicants must apply online (via link below) and, if available electronically, submit the following supporting documents via the online form (without these documents applications cannot be considered):
- Two academic references from independent sources (ie not the proposed supervisor/advisor)
- Two referee report forms Referee report form (PDF 28 KB)
- Photocopies of degree certificates and official transcripts of previous study (where available)
- Evidence of English language ability (if appropriate). Please note, if any documents are in a language other than English, official translations need to be provided
- Students applying for research degrees should also include a research proposal (if required)
- An up-to-date CV
- A copy of your passport (if you will need a visa to study here)
- Under 'Proposed Programme of Study' please complete the sections as follows:
- Institution - 'The University of Manchester'
- Academic Career - 'Postgraduate Research'
- Mode of Attendance - 'Full time' or 'Part Time'
- Programme Description - 'PhD Medicine' or 'MPhil Medicine
Online application
Applicants should apply online. Supporting documents can be uploaded to the online system. Without these documents applications cannot be considered. If applicants are unable to upload additional documents, please post these to:
