The best thing about the course was the flexibility of it. I was able to do the work at a time that suited me, in a place that suited me. The fact that I could download the course materials and work offline meant that I only needed a valid internet connection a few times a week meaning I could travel and work at the same time.
The MPH has definitely influenced my work. I am much more confident appraising papers, thinking about health problems with relation to their impact on public health and I feel more confident having done a substantial piece of work like my dissertation.
I would happily recommend the course to others. If you feel like you're ultimate career may lie in public health then it is a fantastic opportunity to explore the issues in more depth as well as reaffirm that you are making the right decision. If, like me, you decide that your career lies elsewhere, it will give you an excellent base of public health knowledge to take into your career which is invaluable.
