Two new studies commencing soon:
- PSSRU at Manchester will be commencing a new study examining methods and processes of resource allocation in social care. This will be a joint study with Paul Clifford of FACE Information Systems. Funded through the NIHR School for Social Care Research.
- PSSRU are working with Dr Nitin Purandare and other colleagues to examine identification and recognition of dementia in older people of South Asian origin and their carers. Funded by NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Programme.

- Guthrie Trust Witness Seminar
An important seminar was held in Glasgow in May 2008. It looked at the development and history of old age mental health services in the UK. Dave Jolley from PSSRU was one of the participants and has prepared a valuable summary of this significant event.
