What will happen if I don’t want to carry on with the study?
You can withdraw from the study at any time.
If you have been recruited as a depressed subject and have started on citalopram treatment for depression we will meet with you to discuss with you whether you wish to continue taking the treatment.
If you do wish to continue treatment we will liaise with your GP to take over prescribing citalopram and monitoring your progress. If you do not wish to continue taking citalopram we will discuss with you the best way to stop treatment and, if you wish, to obtain further help.
Information collected during your participation in the study may still be used in an anonymised form. Any stored blood samples that can still be identified as yours will be destroyed if you wish.
