Role

Professor of Epidemiological and Social Statistics. Founder of the Developmental Psychopathology Group within the Neuroscience Research Institute. Postgraduate Research Tutor.

Research

Longitudinal methods particularly in the field of developmental psychopathology and child development.

Survey research methods, in particular the use of missing data by design.

Frailty modelling of event data, more recently recognizing recall error.

Models for biometrical and molecular genetic studies, particularly of behaviour and of autism.

Latent variable modelling of non-normal data - this is collaborative work with Sophia Rabe-Hesketh and Anders Skrondal on Generalized Linear Latent and Mixed Models; the Stata gllamm procedure. For further information and downloads on gllamm

Measurement and diagnosis of autism

Trends in child and adolescent mental health

Founder and co-organiser of the Developmental Psychopathology Group within the Neuroscience Research Institute.

Teaching

Short courses in advanced statistical analysis:

Longitudinal data Analysis, Design and Analysis of Complex Surveys, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) in Mplus, Causal Analysis in Stata, Generalized Linear Latent and Mixed Modelling.
