Role

Amanda has led the business and operational functions within NIBHI since 2005.  Her areas of speciality lie in strategic planning, business modelling and risk management.  Amanda also provides project and programme managment to the wider portfolio of NIBHI research, with a specific emphasis on financial and risk management.

 

Research

Although not directly involved in the research element of NIBHI, Amanda supports the research agenda by providing financial and risk managment across all NIBHI projects.

Biography

Amanda was trained as an undergraduate in Biochemistry and Applied Molecular Biology at UMIST.  After a period away in York and Germany completing her M.Res and Ph.D in Biophysics she returned to Manchester as a Research Associate in the Faculty of Life Science.  

After several years of managing research projects within the field gene activation she joined NIBHI in 2005 to take on the role of eScience project manager and supported the MRC funded PsyGrid and CLEF projects.  Since then she has led on the various business and operational functions within NIBHI, with a particular emphasis on financial and risk management.
