Role

Richard Williams is a software engineer working on the CLAHRC project.  CLAHRC is a collaboration between the University of Manchester and the NHS to provide research into health care for people with cardiovascular conditions, and to ensure that any knowledge gained is used to improve health care in Greater Manchester.  Richard's role is focused on producing software to facilitate the planning and monitoring of care pathways for people with vascular disease.

 

Biography

Originally from Formby near Liverpool, Richard studied Maths at Cambridge before starting a job as a software engineer at a Business Process Outsourcing company in Manchester.  While there he worked on system design, development and testing on numerous web and speech recognition applications for use in call centres.  After five years he joined the University in his current role.  Richard is married to Clare, lives in Newton-le-Willows and enjoys mountaineering, running and playing the guitar.
