Sharon McDonnell  is currently the principal investigator of a study which aims to develop a parental suicide bereavement training pack for health professionals.

  • The first phase of the evaluation of the Integrated Drug Treatment System in English Prisons;

  • Identifying the needs of Parents Bereaved by Suicide.

Biography

Sharon McDonnell has worked at the Centre for Mental Health and Risk since 2000.  Currently, she is the principle investigator of a study which aims to develop a parental suicide bereavement training pack for health professionals.

Her Phd identified bereaved parents perception of being bereaved by suicide.

Research Interests

These include suicide prevention, suicide bereavement, sudden unexplained deaths of psychiatric in-patients, offender mental health, multi-agency information sharing and the development of training materials and services for those bereaved by suicide.
