Research
I am working with Dr Jeremy Bland, Consultant Neurophysiologist, Kent and Canterbury Hospital, on statistical methods of diagnosing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and comparing them with Artificial Neural Networks, in collaboration with Dr Peter Weller, Senior Lecturer in Medical Informatics, City University, London. This research has so far resulted in one paper (see my publications), which forms the basis of an online diagnositic website http://www.carpal-tunnel.net/.
Methodological Knowledge
Discriminant Analysis, especially logistic regression (binary, nominal and ordinal multigroup)
Teaching
14 February 2011: I gave a talk on Applications of Statistics to Medicine as part of Manchester Metropolitan University's Collaborative Partnerships: Multicultural Studies programme. The Powerpoint presentation can be obtained from me on request.
