The minimum entry requirements for admission to the Foundation Year in Medicine are listed by country below. Applicants are reminded that all of the information submitted as part of your UCAS application including your personal statement, academic reference, previous educational achievement and UKCAT score is used when we make a decision on your application.

Austria

Academic requirements

Reifeprüfung/Matura from Allegmeinbildende Höhere Schulen
Overall grade of 1 (sehr gut). Applicants should have taken science branch in years 3 and 4 of upper secondary.

Subject requirements

Maths, physics, chemistry and biology should be offered and passed at minimum 2 (gut).

Belgium

Academic requirements

French speaking
Certificat DEnseignement Secondaire Superieur 8 overall with minimum of 8 in all science subjects.

Dutch speaking
Diploma van Secundair Onderwijs overall score of 17.

Subject requirements

Maths, physics, chemistry and biology should be offered for both the French speaking and Dutch speaking qualifications.

Bulgaria

Academic requirements

Diploma za Sredno Obrazonvanie – 5.5 overall with a minimum of 6 in maths, chemistry, biology and physics.

Cyprus

Academic requirements

Greek
Apolytirion 19/20.

Turkish
Lise Diplomasi 85% or 4.2/5.

Czech Republic

Academic requirements

Maturitní Zkoušce (Maturita), – overall average of 1 with no less than 2 in all subjects.

Denmark

Academic requirements

Danish Upper Secondary Leaving Examination – Studentereksamen.

Overall average of 11 with at least 11 in maths, chemistry, biology and physics.

Estonia

Academic requirements

Riigieksmid (State Examination) and Gümnaasiumi lõputunnistus (Secondary School Certificate) – at least 5 graduation examinations with 85% overall, at least 3 must be state exams, with 5 in maths, physics, biology and chemistry.

Finland

Academic requirements

Ylioppilastutkinto/studentexamen (Matriculation Examination) Overall score of 7 (Laudatur) with 7 in at least 4 subjects.
